DEAR CHRISTINE: Pregnant for older man

Date:

Share post:

DEAR CHRISTINE, I am 21 years old and I am in love with a man who is 35.

I met him when I was 17 years old and the two of us really love each other. This man comes to me and sleeps whenever he wants to. He also tried to please me by giving me whatever I ask for.

I am not working and this man lives by himself. I go to his home and wash and cook for him, but this is three months he has not come to me. It’s also a month since he has given me any money.

I am three months’ pregnant and all this man does is call me on the telephone. Now I am beginning to wonder what I am going to do. I don’t want to lose him. Do you think he is going to come back to me?

– H.J.

Dear H.J.,

If you were not so blinded by your love and need for this man, you would see the writing on the wall that clearly says he does not care as he used to.

You should tell him about the baby (if you have not done so as yet) and hope that he supports his child. If not, you’ll have to divert your cooking and washing to someone else who will pay you, so that you can help support yourself and the child on the way.

Don’t waste any more time waiting for handouts of love and money. I doubt there is any of the former left; and it is also doubtful he will keep on giving if he has lost interest in you.

Take care of yourself; your baby will make up for all the heartaches when he or she arrives.

– CHRISTINE
