BRSA helping drivers dodge potholes

ACROSS BARBADOS, there’s an ongoing battle between motorists and potholes.

But although the potholes appear to be winning, the Barbados Road Safety Association (BRSA) refuses to lose the war.

The BRSA kicked into higher gear last Wednesday, when executive member Carson Lee and president Sharmaine Roland-Bowen put down markers to alert road users about upcoming hazards.

The SUNDAY SUN joined the officials in Sargeants Village in Christ Church around 10:30 a.m. By then, workers from the Ministry of Transport and Works (MTW) had patched two holes on the roadsides.

“This is not good enough. We appreciate the ministry responding to the problem but it still has to be done properly. With more weight, this material will be out in no time at all. We don’t want this. We pay taxes and we want proper roads,” said Roland-Bowen. (LT)
