THE BARBADOS WATER AUTORITY (BWA) has committed to investigating reports of dead fish and other debris in the canal leading to the sluice gate at Worthing, Christ Church.
A DAILY NATION team saw one fish floating in the water close to the gate yesterday morning, but some residents said many were spotted in the murky water on Monday and Tuesday.
They said toilet paper was also seen in the brackish water.
However, director of the Waste Water Recovery Programme at the BWA, Patricia Inniss, said they had received no reports of dead fish and debris floating in the canal. She said she saw a lone fish floating when she was in the area a few days ago as well. (YB)
