GIVE PEACE a chance.
That message echoed through the corridors of St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church on Old Year’s Night as Bishop Jason Gordon appealed to his congregation to let peace reign in their families.
His request also extended to the wider community as he said: “If we really want peace in the world, we have to start with non-violence, and that cannot start with somebody else – it has to start with the individual.
“If we want peace in the world, we can’t ask for peace in Syria, Lebanon, Israel, in the Middle East, if you are not willing to do something about peace in [your] own life, peace in [your] family and in [your] church . . . . ” (JS)
