THE COLD HAND of death has not been kind to Cora Eastmond.

Her daughter Melissa died suddenly at the age of 27 last year, the day before Cora’s birthday, leaving three toddlers behind. And two days before Christmas, Cora’s mother also passed away.

“I would never be able to enjoy my birthday and Christmas again, said the 58-year-old at her Work Hall, St Philip home.

Eastmond said she was still trying to process the results from the autopsy report, which revealed that her daughter died from heart failure and goitre – swelling of the thyroid gland.
