Stewart’s fresh serve

LOCAL TENNIS isn’t looking to just hold serve with its juniors any more.

Paul Stewart, the long-serving coach, has been appointed the technical director of the Barbados Tennis Association’s (BTA) junior development programmes.

BTA president Dr Raymond Forde confirmed Stewart’s appointment after recognising the need to broaden the sport’s base.

“We in the association are always looking at ways to improve the standard of tennis throughout and over the last two years the number of girls in tournaments has decreased significantly,” said Forde. (JM)
