“In the Nurses’ Health Study, the Health Professionals Follow-up Study, and other studies, gallstones and Type 2 diabetes were less likely to occur in moderate drinkers than in non-drinkers.” – hsph.harvard.edu
WHILE WATCHING Hansel And Gretel on YouTube, I was impressed with the strategies, intelligence and willingness of the children to escape from the evil witch.
In our daily encounters we may face a “Hansel and Gretel Witch Crisis” and it is important to know how to escape.
I also recognise that unlike those brave children, we are forced to hide our feelings although it is detrimental to our health. We often hide our feelings while being disrespected by people in authority, parents, friends, co-workers and elders.
A friend told me that his boss really treats most of the workers unjustly, speaking insulting untruths and disrespecting them regularly. However, they are all afraid to address the matter because of their commitments to financial companies.
I told Dick that he needs to employ the spiritual tool of “willingness”. This is the progressive action we take towards an issue which manifests itself in our life. Willingness gradually reveals the truth and motivates us to speak about justice.
Increasingly, he developed a spirit of willingness, saw his mortgage and car loan as important but was willing to try something new to stop all the disrespect dispensed by his leader.
He also disclosed: “I sometimes take a moderate ‘shot’ of brown rum to fix me up.”
The website medicaldaily.com revealed: “The School of Public Health at Harvard University found that moderate amounts of alcohol raise levels of high-density lipoprotein, HDL, or ‘good’ cholesterol and higher HDL levels are associated with greater protection against heart disease.” Further: “In a study that included more than 365 000 participants since 1977, as reported in the journal Neuropsychiatric Disease And Treatment, moderate drinkers were 23 per cent less likely to develop cognitive impairment or Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.”
Moreover, research indicates that alcohol can also reduce the risk of gallstones, prevent the common cold, combat muscle pain, help to restrict artery blockage, act as a blood thinner, alleviate arthritis, act as a sexual enhancer and can reduce anxiety.
On the webpage telegraph.co.uk it states that “a study of 1 580 Australian men, conducted by Western Australia’s Keogh Institute for Medical Research and published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, has concluded that those men who drank a moderate amount of alcohol reported 30 per cent fewer erectile dysfunction problems than teetotallers.”
Finally, the website hsph.harvard.edu posits: ‘The idea that moderate drinking protects against cardiovascular disease makes sense biologically and scientifically.” Therefore, Dick is conducting research to stay within the consumption range.
