ANNIYAH GREAVES was the first baby born on Christmas Day 2016 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

The bundle of joy, who weighed in at eight pounds, four ounces, is the daughter of 34-year-old KerryAnn and O’Neil of Block 6C, Silver Hill, Christ Church. She made her appearance at 1:18 this morning.

Anniyah is the couple’s fourth child.

It would be just over eight hours later before Sherry-Anne Belgrave, who is also 34, gave birth to her first child. The bouncing baby boy was seven pounds, seven and a half ounces at birth. Belgrave and the child’s father Leslie Waterman have not yet decided on a name.

Kaffy-Ann Harewood of Massy Distribution took a hamper for the first baby born today.

Two other women are currently in first stage labour.

There have been no births at the Bayview Hospital so far. (YB)
