GRANTLEY ADAMS INTERNATIONAL Airport workers are in agreement with the pay increase management has decided to pay them after almost a year of wage negotiations with the National Union of Public Workers.

The NUPW was negotiating for a six per cent increase but a seven per cent increase has been agreed to.  This was communicated to workers this morning at a meeting held at the GAIA Corporate Offices.

General secretary of the NUPW Roslyn Smith said they were trying to get the back-pay before Christmas.

Smith said in addition to the seven per cent increase, whatever wage increases are negotiated for public sector workers in the future will also apply to GAIA workers. (LK)
