IT MAY TAKE time but it’s going to happen.

Construction of the high-rise multi-million dollar Hyatt Hotel in Carlisle Bay, The City, will eventually get the green light but not before the safeguards are in place to protect Bridgetown’s UNESCO World Heritage Site designation, said Minister of Tourism and International Transport Richard Sealy.

He told the SUNDAY SUN the controversy surrounding the project would be resolved and the permit for construction eventually granted by the Government. But he would not say when.

“Hyatt is going through the planning process and we do have a thorough exercise of granting planning permission, particularly for beachfront properties, particularly for high-rise properties and it is the Government’s position that the planning process needs to be done,” insisted Sealy.
