Third straight day of bus delays

THEY SAY GOOD things come to those wait, but try telling that to the hundreds of commuters stranded in the Fairchild Street Bus Terminal.

For the third day straight, those at the terminal were forced to wait for hours in a bid to get a bus and get home.

With only 80 working buses of what was once a fleet of 250, tempers were frayed yesterday as a WEEKEND NATION team visited the packed venue.

One visibly exhausted Lodge School student said he had spent the last six hours attempting to get home. That was at 8 p.m.

“School usually finishes around two, and we had to wait until like 5:30 pm to get a bus,” the student said as he waited for a Yorkshire bus. This is the third time it’s happened this week,” he explained. (AD)
