IT WAS a night of mixed fortunes for Barbados at the Caribbean Developmental Boxing Tournament at the Sea Rocks Dome on Wednesday night.
Two boxers won and two lost.
The aggressive bantamweight Ajayi Jones pummelled Dominican Simon Joseph into submission, winning by a technical knockout in the third round.
It was a good result for a pugilist who has a reputation for taking the fight to his opponents while providing lots of excitement for the fans.
Ision Fraser was edged out for the Barbados middleweight title over a month ago by the older and more experienced Cabral Barriteau-Foster, but even then he showed plenty of ring craft, including sound defence, hand speed and good lateral movement. (AT)
