KENYANS have long made a mark in the Run Barbados series and yesterday’s Fortress Half-marathon again underlined their dominance.

Julius Koskei and Stephen Tanui completed a 1-2 for the African nation in the event that attracted about 400 runners.

The race started off at a steady pace from the Bay Street Esplanade. As the runners reached the Frank Worrell roundabout in Black Rock, Koskei and Tanui were among the front-running group that also included Matt Loiselle and Michael Bisette.

The half-marathon took the competitors to Paynes Bay where they turned around and ran the distance back to complete the race. On the second leg, the Kenyan duo of Tanui and Koskei were seen running side by side, appearing as though they were motivating each other to cross the finish line. (RA)
