NOVEMBER HAS COME to an end and the docked pay of teachers has still not been returned.
However, the Ministry of Education should not take the lack of action from the Barbados Union of Teachers (BUT) as a sign of victory, the union has stated.
In June of this year, the pay of hundreds of teachers, including BUT president Pedro Shepherd, was docked after they attended two BUT meetings in April and May during school hours.
Two weeks ago at a meeting at the BUT’s Welches, St Michael headquarters, Shepherd had cautioned that if the money docked was not reflected in November’s salaries, action would be forthcoming. (RB)
