TORRENTIAL RAIN yesterday created scary situations for some residents.
One of them was Merton Greaves, who had to be rescued from his car at 5th avenue Bagatelle, St James after his vehicle stalled.
His Toyota Rav 4 just could not cope as he tried to navigate the high waters and he had to be helped from his vehicle by three kind-hearted people as the water invaded his vehicle.
“I saw the water ahead of me, but the water was not that deep as I entered and I had no idea that in the corner was deeper than the rest of the road. Then water began to come in the car . . . but three chaps who saw me came to my rescue,” Greaves said.
Elsworth Went of Church Gap, Hillaby, St Thomas, was shocked to receive news that the roof of his home had blown off. (RB)
