WORKMEN from the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) have successfully fixed a leak on a sewerage main in The City.
Manager of engineering at the BWA, Charles Marville, said the leak had occurred along River Road.
In order to get to the root of the problem, the crew had to cordon off the area, and dig out a large section, which caused several people who travel to the nearby River Terminal or the Fairchild Street bus terminal to divert.
“There was a leak on it [the main] but we continued to use it for a while, until we got the opportunity to fix it. We took the opportunity this weekend to excavate it as it was a large excavation, [but] it is now completed and back in order,” Marville said.
Workmen said that all that was left to do yesterday was refill the hole. (TSG)
