Rain brings more worries to White Hill

THE RECENT HEAVY rains may have been a blessing for many across Barbados, but they were a nightmare for the people at White Hill, St Andrew.

The showers have only added to the hardships encountered in getting in and out of that village.

On Wednesday a number of long-time residents again voiced their dismay at their continuing plight. Anderson Brathwaite, 62, a mason, said that daily he must get over heaps of rubble, rocks and the mountainous terrain to get to work on time.

His other option is to catch the shuttle bus, which would only take him as far as Belleplaine, St Andrew, and this, he said, would certainly make him late. (TSG)
