Drinking for better health

BOTTLED WATER sales are up, say some Bridgetown vendors.

In the wake of concerns over soft drink consumption, they told the SATURDAY SUN more Barbadians were reaching for the calorie-free option.

In Bolton Lane while plying his trade, vendor of 15 years, Anthony Waithe, said he believed more Barbadians were buying water because of the prevalence of non-communicable diseases. He noted that younger people appeared to be dying from poor lifestyle habits.

“Water is something that keeps the body clean. The less sweet drinks people use the better. The sugar is killing you and the salt killing you.
