THINGS HAVE GONE from bad to worse for Mitchelle Marksman and her daughter.

After publicly challenging a decision by the Government Industrial School (GIS) to send her 15-year-old daughter to the Psychiatric Hospital for treatment, Marksman now has to deal with the fact that the minor has been remanded to HMP Dodds.

According to Marksman, the teenage girl was remanded to the penal institution for 28 days by Magistrate Wanda Blair after she appeared in the Holetown Magistrates Court on October 30, jointly charged with assaulting another girl at GIS.

“There was a fight that happened on the 20th of September and we knew nothing about this fight. On the 30th of October her father got a call saying that she getting charge along with some other girls for being in this fight,” the concerned mother told the WEEKEND NATION. (RB)
