MINISTER OF HEALTH John Boyce has thrown cold water on the claim that Barbadians might be exposed to “diseases of the past”, such as cholera, because of the shortage of water now affecting some parishes.

Speaking at a Democratic Labour Party (DLP) “South Alive” joint meeting at the Deighton Griffith School in Kingsland, Christ Church last night, he dismissed the suggestion as a “silly” reference and one of politicking.

The Christ Church South Member of Parliament defended the island’s health care system, maintaining that it was still one of the best in the region as evidenced by high praise from a top Pan American Health Organisation official recently. (SDB Media)
