RESIDENTS FROM A number of Christ Church and St Michael communities can now say with relief, ‘water at last’ after being deprived of it over the weekend.

It was an unwelcomed taste of what those in the north, east and parts of western Barbados have been experiencing for the past year.

Barbados Water Authority’s (BWA) Communications Specialist Joy-Ann Haigh confirmed water had been restored to those communities stretching as far as St Lawrence Gap, Christ Church to Bay Street, St Michael.

“The mains have been repaired and everything is back to normal in those areas which have been affected over the weekend in the St Michael and Christ Church parishes,” she said.

The outage was caused by a ruptured main. (MR)
