NEW CANADIAN HIGH Commissioner to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, Marie Legault, received a warm Barbadian welcome to her posting last week.

Fellow diplomats, members of the business community, Government representatives and friends of Canada made up the guest list at the reception hosted at the Canadian High Commission on Bishop’s Court Hill where Legault told her guests how much she was looking forward to her Barbados assignment.

Recounting the decades-old ties between Canada and Barbados, the petite high commissioner signalled her dynamism when she said she intended to serve with “all my dedication and all my energy and enthusiasm – and I have a lot”.
