Bond ‘not best fit’ for hockey

MIXED FEELINGS surround this year’s hosting of the National Sports Council’s (NSC) Secondary Schools’ Indoor Hockey Tournament at the Kensington Oval Bond.

NSC coach Ralph Watson said though the venue was not ideal for its staging it was the best fit.

“This is the best available facility currently, but it is a little small for indoor hockey. Obviously it should be a little wider,” said Watson.

With the padlock on the Gymnasium at the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex, which is undergoing repairs, a number of sports which were previously held there have had to be housed at the KOMI facility.   (RG)
