Venom drives away with car

MARK “VENOM” GRIFFITH created road tennis history in Barbados when he became the first player to win a motor car in the sport here Saturday night.

Griffith, the No.1 seed, outplayed former champion Antoine “Lil Man” Daniel 21-14, 21-15, 21-17 in the final of the lucrative Barbados Public Workers’ Cooperative Credit Union’s Monarchs of the Court road tennis championship.

More than 1 500 fans came out to witness the event at the old Cable & Wireless courts, Wildey. (EZS)
