Griffith: It all happened so fast

A MERE 15 MINUTES more and Anthony Denny and his friend Andrew Griffith would have been safely on their way home.

But it was during that time when fate took a deadly twist. Denny, who met and became friends with Griffith just a few months ago, was packing up from an unfruitful fishing trip and fell from the old jetty at Crane Beach to his death early Friday morning. He was 58.

The pair had enjoyed various outings since Denny took up the hobby in December, but Friday’s turn of events would be forever etched on Griffith’s brain.

Yesterday the St Philip native was still trying to come to grips with the tragedy as he told his story to the SUNDAY SUN. He said he had not eaten in more than 24 hours and was going on very little sleep. (YB)
