PROMOTERS OF THE ninth Darcy Beckles Classic have promised fans “a bigger and better” event when the bodybuilding, physique and bikini fitness show comes off at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre tonight.

Roger Boyce, one of the organisers, said plans have been going well.

“This year we were able to attract some 40 athletes from outside of Barbados, the biggest we have ever had. We have new teams in Suriname and Guadeloupe, to name a few. Guadeloupe has a very serious team and look like they mean business,” Boyce said.

He also said that all of the top Barbadians such as Stevenson Belle, Shakira Doughlin and Tamesha Lewis will be competing, as well as other outstanding performers who went to the Central American and Caribbean Championships (CAC) in the Dominican Republic.
