THE RASTAFARIAN COUPLE found guilty of failing to send their children to school will have to wait another three weeks to hear their fate after Magistrate Douglas Frederick adjourned the matter this afternoon.

This morning a small gathering of mainly Rastafarian people congregated opposite the gates of the District “A” Magistrates’ Court to lend support to the parents who were supposed to be sentenced.

The couple arrived around noon with their children and they were greeted with hugs and smiles from their supporters.

As the hours passed, the group which was led by president of the Afrikan Heritage Foundation Paul “Simba” Rock grew to about 20.

Though members of the group said they were not protesting but “silently supporting”, police said they were not given permission to stage a protest.

The matter is adjourned until October 28. (TKS)
