A MAN SAID to be the “best friend” of Christopher Hawkesworth is assisting police with the investigation into his shooting death.

Reports indicated that the man turned himself in to officers at a police station, accompanied by an attorney at law, on Saturday morning several hours before Hawkesworth’s body was discovered in a bushy track at Bakers, St Peter.

Police sources told the DAILY NATION that the best friend had a written statement in his hand when he arrived at the station.

However, over the past 24 hours he reportedly changed his story three times. (BN)
