MINISTER OF HOUSING Denis Kellman (below) is not buckling to public pressure over the opening of his Moon Town, St Lucy business during the state-declared national shutdown in response to Tropical Storm Matthew last Wednesday.

Rather, the St Lucy Member of Parliament is insisting he had a social responsibility to his constituents. deniskellman33

His defence of his position Monday night came as calls mounted for him to do like other businesses and apologise.

“If I apologise to them, then I also have to apologise to another group of people,” he told the DAILY NATION last night.

“I would then have to tell another group I regretted looking after their welfare. You can’t have people depending on you and then in crucial times walk away from them.” (WILLCOMM)
