BARBADIAN STUDENTS in Jamaica are hunkering down and preparing for the worst as Hurricane Matthew bears down on them today.
And with Jamaica on shutdown as the Category 4 hurricane, which is packing winds of 145 miles per hour, approaches, some of the students opted to book flights home.
Speaking to the DAILY NATION yesterday, president of the Barbados Students Association of Jamaica (BSAJ) Chevon Corbin said that the 160 Barbadians were all preparing for the hurricane in various ways.
“Some Barbadian students have chosen to stay with family and friends, whilst others have left the island, moving out of the passageway of the hurricane,” Corbin said. (AD)
