Archer, Jordan help to put Sussex in command

BRISTOL – Barbadian Jofra Archer continued his impressive start to his professional career when he picked up three wickets for Sussex, to help them limit Gloucestershire on day two of their final round County Championship cricket match here Wednesday.

The 21-year-old seamer claimed two of the last three wickets to fall to finish with three for 39 as the hosts, resuming from their overnight 201 for seven, crumbled to 229 all out in their first innings. chris-jordan

Barbadian-born Chris Jordan (right), now an England international, grabbed the other Gloucestershire wicket to fall to end with two for 67.

At the close, Sussex were in strong reply at 208 for four, just 21 runs off securing a first innings lead.

Archer has been a revelation for Sussex since his debut against Pakistan back in July when he snapped up five wickets in the game. Since then he has taken 22 County wickets at an average of 29. (CMC)
