FAMILIES WHO REGARD their wayward sons as “nice boys” need to take charge of them.
Attorney General Adriel Brathwaite threw out the challenge yesterday after the service at St Michael’s Cathedral to mark the start of the legal year.
The country’s top legal adviser turned his attention to the hot issue of crime and violence against a background of shootings in public settings and a home invasion.
“You see these youngsters going into court or getting into trouble or they’ve been damaged through acts of violence or even killed . . . . I’m not being insensitive [but] you hear what a nice boy he was, etcetera, and when you check with the Royal Barbados Police Force, you see they have been far from nice for a very long time,” Brathwaite said.
