WHETHER IT IS from pique or power, pettiness or pride, Newtons’ third law of motion always takes pride of place.
From whatever perspective one may look at it, the legal principle established more than three hundred years ago by English lawyer and politician Sir Edward Coke says “a man’s house is his castle”.
The appendage attached in Latin and translated to English further emphasised “and each man’s home is his safest refuge”, underpinning much of Coke’s legal treatises that make up “The Institutes of the laws of England”.
In ordinary layman terms, no one may enter the house or home of a person, private or corporate, without permission.
There is no automatic invitation or permission.
The well-known proverb “ever so welcome, wait for a call” is too often ignored.
