Champ blasts omission

YET ANOTHER TABLE TENNIS national champion is crying foul over the selection of the Barbados team to compete at the Caribbean Championships in the Dominican Republic later this month.

Mark Dowell, the current Men’s Islandwide champion, who has won multiple national senior titles over the past decade, is upset over his omission and the manner in which the team was selected.

“This is the lowest that I have seen table tennis in Barbados and it hurts because I don’t only play for myself but I want to see our standard return to where it should be. I want to see the legacy continue,” Dowell told the SATURDAY SUN.

“This is the first big decision this new committee has had to make and they have got it really wrong.
