Cannabis seized in country

THE ROYAL Barbados Police Force seized thousands of cannabis plants during a joint drug eradication programme today.

Members of the Drug Squad, with assistance from the Tactical Response and Barbados Defence Force, conducted the exercise in St Joseph, St John and St Thomas.

The biggest haul took place in St Joseph where 2 148 plants were seized at Vaughn Land and 679 in Coffee Gully. 

At Ashford, St John, 534 plants were seized with smaller quantities at Lemon Arbor (60) in the same parish and Arthur Seat (63), St Thomas.

Police say a total of 4025 cannabis plants were seized. (PR/SAT)
