Barbadian among three facing cocaine charges

A ST PHILIP MAN was granted bail, while two Vincentians were remanded to HMP Dodds when they appeared in District B Magistrates Court today to face several drug charges.

Justin Selman, 47, of Lot 3A Berlin Road, St Philip pleaded not guilty to Acts Preparatory To Traffic A Controlled Drug to Wit: Cocaine. He was granted bail to the sum of $7 500 with one surety and is scheduled to reappear in court on September 29.

Vincentians Francois Asima Ironsi Robert, 38 years of Dorchetshire Hill and Makaider Kristal Derrick, 24, of Glem, St George pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and importation.

They were remanded to Dodds, to reappear in court on September 8 for sentencing.

According to Police, Robert and Derrick arrived by air together from St Vincent last Friday.

Derrick’s luggage was searched by Customs officers, and three plastic bottles containing a liquid substance – suspected to be cocaine – were found in a black pouch concealed in her suitcase. They were both arrested and referred to the police.

Further investigations resulted in Selman being charged. (PR/SAT)
