THE EXECUTIVE OF the Barbados Union of Teachers followed through with its plan to stage a protest near the Ministry of Education this morning.

About ten placard-bearing protesters gathered on the field next to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital from around 9 a.m.

At issue is the Ministry’s refusal to reinstate the pay it docked from teachers who attended two union meetings earlier this year.

Affected teachers had been invited to join in on the action.

The protest is expected to continue tomorrow. (BN)
