IT ISN’T EASY living less than 50 feet from a metal dump.
Just ask George Hurley and his wife, who live at Reece Road, Cane Garden, St Thomas, a stone’s throw away from the controversial B’s Recycling.
Every day they open their windows or doors, they are met with a mountain of garbage across the street, as one of just three residences which make up Reece Road and which are close to the dump.
They choose to keep those windows and doors closed most of the time.
When asked about having to live with a mountain of old appliances, the pungent smell, the endless vermin, and now more mosquitoes than ever before, their answer comes in loud unison.
“It needs to go.”
