A LOCAL boy is excited at the opportunity to compete at a major sporting event.
Oein Josiah will line up for next Saturday’s AJ Bell London Triathlon which is regarded as the world’s largest triathlon. About 13 000 competitors are expected for the event.
Josiah said both he and his manager Richard Perkins were exploring international competition opportunities.
“We saw the London triathlon as being one of the prestigious triathlons in Europe and the world, so we just decided to go there and see how it goes. I feel very privileged because not a lot of (local) triathletes go over there for that,” Josiah told NATIONSPORT.
“But I feel very anxious to see where I am, compared to [other triathletes] to see how I am performing.”
