ARE YOU where you’ve always wanted to be?
At this stage, yes and no. Yes, because from young I’ve always wanted to own and run a business. No, simply because I believe there is always room for improvement.
What is your biggest professional challenge?
The ability to maintain the level of creativity required to stimulate business growth and expansion.
What is your biggest life challenge?
Being able maintain a healthy work-life balance, especially with a young business.
When you look to the future, what do you see?
I see a future where we as humans would be able to coexist without paying attention to superficial items such as race, gender or class. I also see a future whereby we as a country would have to pay greater attention to how we manage our natural resources.
What is your favourite pastime?
My favourite pastime is being able to watch a Formula 1 Grand Prix uninterrupted from the pre race show to the post-race show.
What is your favourite meal?
Breadfruit cou cou and salt fish with copious amounts of gravy.
On Saturday nights, where are you likely to be?
Driving, cruising along either the south or west coast.
What upsets you the most?
Excess bureaucracy even in the simplest of tasks.
What is your guiding philosophy?
If you can dream it, it can be done.
If you had the chance to manage Barbados for a day, what would you do?
First, I would substantially reduce taxes in Barbados. This is a proven way to stimulate spending and economic growth in an already suppressed economy. Secondly, I would also embark on a project aimed at further enhancing the island’s revenue generating capability through the creation of innovative and internationally marketable services.
