A HOUSE occupied by a Chapel Gap, Spooner’s Hill, St Michael family for the past 22 years gave them the shock of their lives when one of the bedroom floors caved in under them minutes into their bedtime prayers on Sunday.
It was a terrifying 45 minutes that started about minutes to midnight, leaving 35-year-old airport worker Nicholas Hinkson trapped under the concrete rubble before he was rescued by personnel of the Barbados Fire Service. 
The building, which housed four others, is now uninhabitable.
Hinkson was treated at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for a bruise on his head and soft tissue injuries.
His mother Cheryl Hinkson, 53, said he had been released from the hospital but yesterday afternoon when a DAILY NATION returned to the location he wasn’t there with other family members. (LK)
