A POWER OUTAGE on Thursday was the culprit behind the standstill at the Barbados Revenue Authority’s (BRA) Licensing Authority in the Pine on Friday.

The outage disrupted the office’s network connection to the servers which run the authority’s computers islandwide, said BRA communications officer Erica Lazare.

She told the DAILY NATION that as a result of the power outage, network connection was lost to all computers “because the servers for the licensing system are still in the Pine and our network connection was affected”.

However, she said connectivity was restored on Friday, albeit late in the afternoon. And those who missed out paying for their driver’s licences or their road tax can do so today. (HLE)
