EMBATTLED PRESIDENT Keith Yearwood said the Barbados Cycling Union (BCU) won’t be hurried into calling an extraordinary meeting as the sport’s governing body is still waiting for the constitution to be fully amended before proceeding with elections.
Yearwood made the comment in response to correspondence signed by 26 BCU members that demanded a meeting within the next three weeks.
“We will call the meeting in due course but as it stands right now the constitution hasn’t been fully amended yet. So when it is finished, then we will send copies of it to get everyone’s approval and then set a date for the annual general meeting,” Yearwood said.
“We just want to get that finalised first, so the council can have a meeting to look at it, approve those amendments and get about with the business of the BCU.” (JM)
