Headliners lack punch

THE MORNING AFTERWARDS and memories simply don’t stand out.

The performances from the Headliners calypso tent at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre on Thursday night did not cause me to hum a few words or sway my head in reflection of sweet melodies, pulsating rhythms or interesting lyrics.

Apart from MR BlOOD, in both halves of the show, and Shirley Stewart in the first half, the tent did not deliver that knockout punch.

Patrons simply did not get that music which would make them want to sing along, get up and dance or, in the case of the social commentary, go hmmm.
