WEST INDIES’ dream of winning the Ballr Cup Tri-Nations One-Day International cricket series turned into a nightmare at Kensington Oval last night.

World champions Australia gave the West Indies a 58-run flogging in the day-night final to silence the estimated 5 500 spectators.

Batting first, Australia rallied from 173 for six to a challenging 270 for nine off their 50 overs, mainly through the efforts of wicketkeeper Matthew Wade, who hit the top score of 57 not out. (ES)
