POLICE REPORTEDLY made a breakthrough into a recent brutal murder after dozens of heavily armed officers swooped down on a home in Deacons, St Michael, yesterday. They took a young man into custody and are also reported to have confiscated a Glock 40 firearm during the operation.
The drama unfolded during a rainy, overcast morning. As many were preparing to celebrate Father’s Day, members of the Royal Barbados Police Force’s highly trained Tactical Response Unit, along with other uniformed and plain-clothes officers, headed to the Government housing district in search of a suspect in connection with a highly publicised murder, sources told the DAILY NATION.
According to the sources, the man arrested yesterday afternoon was linked to the June 8 murder of former jockey Rico Reid.
