DARIAN KING’s road to Rio is going to be a bit longer now.

The king of swing will be taking a slight detour across the Atlantic to the All England Club after making his first ever qualifying draw of tennis’ most prestigious Grand Slam, Wimbledon.

King broke the historic news yesterday after receiving confirmation via email from ATP manager of player relations Cristina Yoshizawa.

“It’s a good feeling and I know this will be a great experience for me even though I wasn’t even thinking about qualifying for Wimbledon this year, but it’s another Grand Slam ticked off the list,” said the 24-year-old Bajan ace in a telephone interview with SUNSPORT.
