OFFICIALS FROM THE Barbados Association of Retailers, Vendors and Entrepreneurs (BARVEN), the police and the Ministry of Agriculture will walk the streets of Bridgetown today to hear the pleas of vendors.

President Alister Alexander confirmed to the DAILY NATION last night the three groups would tour several popular spots in the capital, starting at Police Headquarters on Roebuck Street. The procession will head to areas where vendors who are in need of licences to sell can be identified.

The BARVEN president said after this process the specific number of vendors to receive licences would be determined.

“We just want to complete the process where we can identify all the spots possible for further licensing and after that, there will be a cut-off. There will be no more licences given to vendors in The City,” he said. (TSG)
