CHILDREN FROM THE PARISH of St James can now consider themselves Parish Ambassadors.
Students from some of the primary and secondary schools within the western parish were named Junior Parish Ambassadors during an induction ceremony today.
The small ceremony was carried out by Reverend Beverly Sealy-Knight, rector of the nearby St James Anglican Church in Holetown. She asked God’s blessings on the job about to be undertaken.
Fifteen students from Frederick Smith, Gordon Greenidge and St Alban’s were taught the duties of a Parish Ambassador by Gretel Morris, one of the speakers.
They were also given information on the Spirit of the Nation Competition and the Mini-Parks and Garden Competition by Jessica Parris.
This programme for juniors is part of the project being undertaken by the 2016 ambassadors Regina Hinds and Keimar Blackman.
Last year, St James placed second in the Spirit of the Nation Competition. (KA)
