THE POLICE HIGH COMMAND will be going into Brittons Hill this week as the top cop attributes a rash of gunplay last week to rival gangs in the St Michael district.

Acting Commissioner of Police Tyrone Griffith told the DAILY NATION that he had spoken to his deputy divisional officer and, as a result, members of the Royal Barbados Police Force would walk through the area sometime this week but did not disclose what day.

“I spoke to him on Friday and so he is putting together the team to do that sometime during the week,” Griffith said.

His comments came against the backdrop of three shootings, in quick succession, of young men associated with or in the Brittons Hill area. (HLE)
